Exploring alternative dimensions of emotional thought in search of a hedonistic model in which to identify oneself, transcending every sound codified by the aesthetic canons of the present: this is the mission of an ensemble of charismatic and celebrated musicians brought together to conceive an ambitious project for the evolution of musical language, where the fascination of the past coexists with the hypnotic digital future through the use of artificial-intelligence technologies.
This is “Evolution,” an artistic vision that begins with the metaphorical concept of evanescent time, crossing genres, eras and sensations to guide the listener into the center of a synesthetic experience that goes beyond the boundaries of time and space.
Conceived and curated by Maestro and composer Marco Sabiu, a conductor for numerous editions of the Sanremo Music Festival and a collaborator with internationally renowned artists including Françoise Hardy, Luciano Pavarotti, Ennio Morricone and Luciano Ligabue, and developed in synergy with Elisa Rubini and William Seiferth, principals of the U.S.-based Mewzing Project label — which brings together musicians participating in innovative projects — “Evolution” is a surprising combination of an evocative past and a magnetic future, where digital technologies do not merely accompany the music but redefine the very concept of sound.
An eclectic musical alchemy, the track — available on digital stores in three versions, Radio Edit, Club Mix and Alternate Take — is introduced by the distinctive and expressive melodic quality of tenor Augusto Celsi, in close harmony with the persuasive atmospheres created by the tonal character of Deborah Johnson’s voice, an African-American singer and daughter of the renowned pop performer Wess Johnson.
The lyrics and melodies are by musician and lyricist Max Marchione, known for contributing to the creation of several prominent recording projects.
